Default The Simo Man Surfaces

Well, well, Jason Simontacchi still pitches---and wins! Remember him? He made about the most of marginal talent anyone has.

Another former Card, Nerio Rodriguez, is pitching tonight for the Dominican Republic against Venezuela.

A current Cardinal farmhand, Pete Parise, is on the Puerto Rican squad. I don't know if he pitched today, but he went a scoreless inning on Tuesday against the DR.

I haven't looked for the rosters. Just wondering if Yadi is playing in the series.

This is the 6 day format from Feb 2-7 involving the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Venzuela in a double round robin series.

Edit: I answered my own question. Yadi is not on Puerto Rico's roster. They have only pitchers Hector Hernandez and Pete Parisi on their roster from the Cardinals organization. Pitcher Fernando Salas is on the Mexico roster.

The rosters of the four teams can be found here.

On another forum, they report that Parise pitched 3 good innings for PR today against Mexico.

I was wondering whatever happened to Simo! I always liked him. He never gave up.
